If the unit is no longer under warranty, repair service is available on a time and materials basis. Repairs generally take 2 weeks from receipt of the unit depending on the availability of parts. In the U.S. units should be shipped to the factory at 728 Garden Street, Carlstadt, N.J. 07072.
Tel-Instrument will calibrate test sets at the factory. The following distributors are also able to calibrate the test sets (insert list of distributors)
Tel Instrument recommends an annual calibration interval.
Tel maintains final inventory stock of selected products, but primarily builds units to order. Units that are in inventory will ship within two weeks from order receipt. Units that are build-to-order typically take twelve weeks from the time the order is placed until delivery.
Yes, purchase and operating leases are available through TIC Financial Services. There are 2, 3, 4 and 5 year purchase option leases available and 1, 2, or 3 year operating leases. Rates are based on the term and the size of the transaction. Please call for quotation. Some products are available under short term rental.
The Tel-Instrument Electronics Corporation warrants that each product it manufactures is free from defective material and workmanship for a period of two (2) years subject to the following terms and conditions. This warranty requires the unit to be delivered by the owner to Tel-Instrument intact for examination, with all transportation charges prepaid to the factory, within two (2) years from the date of sale to original purchaser. Tel-Instrument will solely determine when such defect exists.
This warranty does not extend to any of Tel products which have been subject to misuse, neglect, accident, improper installation, or used in violation of operating instructions. This warranty does not extend to units which have been repaired, calibrated, or altered in any way by a facility that is not approved, in writing, by Tel-Instrument Electronics Corp. to perform such work. This warranty does not apply to any product where the seals or serial number thereof has been removed, defaced or changed, nor to accessories not of our own manufacture.
Repair parts will be made available for a minimum period of five (5) years after the manufacture of this equipment has been discontinued.
This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied and all such other warranties are hereby expressly excluded. No representative or person is authorized to assume for us any other liability or warranty in connection with the sale of Tel’s products.
This warranty does not cover or include batteries (batteries have a separate 90 day warranty).
Additional information with regard to the applications and maintenance of this equipment will be available from time to time.
Tel-Instrument Electronics Corp. reserves the right to modify or change the warranty without notice.
Additional 5-year extended warranties are available for certain products and for volume purchase agreements. Prices for extended warranties will be provided by the sales rep listed on the website.
International delivery of military test sets should be placed with one of our authorized distributors as shown on the website. If an export license is required it typically takes four to six weeks to process.
Orders for military units to be used domestically should be placed directly with the factory. Contact the Tel sales rep listed in the Contact Us section of the website.
User manuals are the primary training resource available. Onsite factory training is available if required.
All three test sets are based on a common design and are digital testers with software-based test packages. The TR-420 is the commercial, off the shelf version of the test set and includes IFF Modes 1, 2, 3A, 4, S and Mode 5 Transponders and Interrogators. The TR-420 also includes EHS, ADS-B and TACAN functions. The AN/USM-708 and AN/USM-719 were was designed for the U.S. Navy and add additional Comm/Nav/VSWR and shipboard tests.
